I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I earned my Masters of Science in Counseling and my Bachelors of Science in Development and Family Studies, both from the University of North Texas.
My journey as a counselor has taken me into different environments, from working with children and families that have experienced various types of trauma, to going into family homes of children with disabilities and developmental delays, as well as providing support and training within the public education system. When working with children, I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy. This is an evidence-based approach that provides clients with the opportunity to process, communicate, and learn about themselves in their natural language of play. As a play therapist, my focus is on fostering a strong, secure relationship between the child and their parents through the therapeutic process of building trust and safety. I aim to bring connection and healing to the parent-child dynamic, supporting both the child’s emotional needs and the parent’s role in this process.
As a Bilingual counselor (Spanish and English), I am an advocate for cultural diversity and acknowledgement of hardship that play a guiding role towards healing. I look forward to working alongside you, your child, and your family!
