“Stress” is a term most of us frequently use to describe our experiences amid a culture of Capitalism. We are urged to do more, go faster, be better, at rates that overwhelm our Central Nervous Systems. For many, this results in a failure to complete an adaptive Stress Response Cycle, which is essential for healthy functioning. “De-stressing” is vitally important, but it may not be as simple as it sounds in that self-help book gathering dust on your coffee table. In this experiential webinar, we explore the questions of WHY our bodies experience prolonged stress and HOW to release stored stress and complete the Stress Response Cycle. Content includes exploration of Polyvagal Theory, the brain’s reactions to trauma, and practical ways to complete the Stress Response Cycle. Participants are invited to try activities designed to release stored stress and to reconnect with themselves in the present moment. This webinar is appropriate for any adult who experiences stress. Community members, mental health professionals, healthcare workers, students, etc are welcome and invited to attend. This webinar has a capacity of 300 attendees.
